2018年学生生活を終えた直後、USDMに憧れてカナダ、バンクーバーに渡米。夢に憧れて現地のカーシーンを見てみると、YouTubeで見ていたカッコいい車達はいるけれど数は日本と比べて予想以上に小さく、ベースとなる車はFRS, Civicと同じ車ばかり。日本でみたベースになるあんな車やこんな車が全く無かった。そんな考えから、もし自分が持ってきて現地をもっと盛り上げる事ができたらいいじゃないかという思いからブランドを立ち上げた。幸い家族は戦後から代々続く東京にある車検もできる車屋。物はリアルでクオリティには自身がある自分が、"日本と海外を繋ぐ架け橋になりたい”が 理念である
2018 April, shortly after I finished my student life. Driven by my passion for the USDM scene, I moved to Vancouver, Canada, to experience the car culture I had always admired.
Once I arrived, I realized that while there were some of the cool cars I’d seen on YouTube, the overall scene was much smaller than in Japan. Most of the builds were based on the same few platforms—FRS, Civic, and similar models. The wide variety of base cars we had in Japan didn’t exist.
That’s when I thought, if I could bring some of those unique Japanese cars overseas, I could help grow and inspire the local scene.
Luckily, my family has been running an auto shop in Tokyo for generations, ever since the postwar era—complete with full inspection and maintenance capabilities. With real experience, quality you can trust, and a genuine love for car culture, I founded Wangan Direct with one vision in mind:
To become a bridge connecting Japan and the rest of the world through cars.
